Unwanted ink? We’ve got you covered. At Skin Shore, we use the advanced UltraLUX Pro by The Global Beauty Group for safe, effective laser tattoo removal. How it Works

The UltraLUX Pro uses Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser technology, specifically designed to target and shatter tattoo pigment without damaging surrounding skin. The laser energy breaks the ink down into tiny particles, which are gradually removed by your body’s natural lymphatic processes. Over time, the tattoo fades with each session.

What to Expect: The Treatment Process

1. Consultation & Patch Test

Your journey starts with a consultation to assess the tattoo’s size, colour, age, depth, and your skin type. We’ll answer your questions, explain the process in detail, and perform a patch test at least 24 hours before your first session to ensure suitability and safety.

2. Before Your Appointment

To prepare for treatment:

  • Avoid sun exposure and fake tan on the area for 2 weeks before

  • Shave the area if it’s in a hairy region

  • Keep the skin clean and product-free on the day of your appointment

  • Don’t use active skincare (retinol, AHAs, BHAs) on the area for 3–5 days before

3. During the Treatment

We’ll apply a cooling gel or ice pack and give you protective eyewear. The UltraLUX Pro handpiece is placed over the tattoo, delivering fast pulses of laser energy. The sensation is often described as similar to a rubber band snap, and while it’s not pain-free, most clients find it manageable (numbing can be used if needed).

Treatment times vary depending on the size of the tattoo – a small design might take just a few minutes.

4. Aftercare & Healing

After treatment, the area may be red, swollen, or feel like mild sunburn. This is normal and usually settles within a few days. You may notice slight frosting (a white haze on the tattoo), pinpoint bleeding, or scabbing – all part of the healing process.

To care for the area:

  • Keep it clean and dry

  • Avoid hot showers, pools, saunas, and excessive sweating for 48 hours

  • Don’t pick, scratch, or remove any scabs or peeling skin

  • Apply SPF daily if the area is exposed

  • Follow all aftercare instructions provided in your appointment

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Tattoo removal is a gradual process. Most tattoos require 6–12+ sessions spaced 8-12 weeks apart, depending on:

  • Ink colours (black is easiest, coloured tattoos may need more sessions)

  • Depth and density of the ink

  • Age of the tattoo

  • Your skin type and immune response

We’ll give you an estimate at your consultation, but everyone responds differently – we’ll track your progress at each visit.
